Hope you’re all getting into the swing of 2025, I’ve already put the previous year in my diary for the first two days, so now I have it fixed in my head, we’re into the year of the snake in Chinese horoscopes. It’s going to be a year to embrace the bold, according to my Kindred Spirit magazine. It’s out every three months, with all things I love like horoscopes, tarot, crystals, nature and witchy articles. And I have heard that one of my poems is going to be in the spring issue. They have a section for writers’ and artists’, so this writer sent in two poems, and they’ve chosen one. As they get lots sent in, I will be so proud to see mine there on my favourite pages. They let us link to our website, so I will get this updated before then. We also put a bit of bio, so looking forward to seeing that.

There’s a lot going on with the planets, with lots of movement that show big changes around, and us taking control of our lives like never before. If you see the magazine on the shelves, it’s well worth picking one up, you’d love it. Especially the spring one! It’s in shops on 21st February, so a little while yet. I’ll remind you nearer the time.
What do you think of my new e-book cover? It’s in readiness for my kindle release of latest gritty Midlands Saga. Set in the area I grew up, and down to earth with some unsavoury goings on, so if that’s not for you, pass on this. But, if you like a regional accent, like me, and some family drama, this is for you. My new pen name is to separate the genre from my usual light hearted escapism. This is fictional as well, but set during WW1.
I’m going through one last edit, along with the other (big number). I was going to get a professional editor, but when I saw the cost, it was way out of my budget. If I could pass GCSE English Language and Literature, a long time ago, surely I can edit myself? Hopefully this time, I will have dotted all the I’s and crossed a few more t’s. You may have gathered that I am now going to self-publish this story. I’ve sent out to some fabulous agents, and publishers. The ones who reply tell me not for them, but send more!
The agent who asked me to write this story in the first place, asked for a Meg Hutchinson style story; she liked it, so that’s good, and said it had all the elements of a good saga. That’s an achievement, but it was a long time ago, and she’s now got enough saga writers on her list. Not to be disheartened, I am now focusing on getting this ready for release. Now this is where any saga fans come in. Really soon, I will need half a dozen saga fans, or anyone who thinks they might like this story, to be an ARC reader. Nothing to do with getting in a boat, or paddling in the rain. It’s advanced reader copy. Where you have a look in advance, and if you like it leave a review on Amazon.
If this is something you’d be interested in, please let me know. I will be doing a book giveaway when the paperback comes out. Thanks for sticking with me, (if you’re still reading) and being on this writing journey with me.
I went swimming this morning. Of all the mornings I choose to book in advance, there was a white over frost. It was lovely and warm in the water though, and not too many there, so glad I made the effort. Next I’m going to get a track suit and a yoga mat.
All for now, have a happy and healthy 2025
Suzy xx
