Susan Jones writes romantic drama with a touch of humour, and historical sagas as Lydia King. She lives in North Warwickshire, and loves walking through the beautiful woodlands where she lives, and gardening and reading are her pastimes.

Thanks to wight rabbit Jacqueline for this award. Here are seven things about me.

1. I’m a mom to three grown up children who are the best people I know.

2. I married Alan twice. Once when I was 19 and he 25. Then again when I was 48 and he 54.

3. My favourite fruit are peaches.

4. I prefer being outdoors to indoors.

5. My favourite season is winter, especially when it’s frosty.

6. We bought our house because it had an open fire where I love to watch the flames leaping and dancing.

7. I once wrote my autobiography, then burned it as it was too personal.

  Yes you’re right, it was in the Bella Summer Special 2008. A professional photgrapher came round and took pictures. Thanks for commenting.

Hi Teresa,
Thanks to you for all those great stories, and Patsy too. You’re my two favourite short story writers. Most of my stories that get accepted are from true life. Editors are more interested in that than fictional ones so far. I keep trying though.

Congratulations!

An open fire is a necessity for life – and for story making.

Lovely to learn more about you. And I think that was brave to burn something that was too personal. I’m sure the process was good and you will be able to weave your experiences into your fiction, without it being personal. I have a feeling that’s often the way it works!

Hi Juliet, I found it a good way of getting rid of excess baggage that was bumbling around in my head from my own life. The experiences and feelings are still there, and as you say, I’m now more in a position to put these happenings into my fiction. A real fire does give inspiration, especially for my poetry.
