Are they early? because I have some out in my garden too.

I think it’s because it’s been mild up until now Jarmara, yet usually, they’re covered in snow aren’t they?

I do love a group of snowdrops growing naturally like this!

You can’t beat anything growing naturally can you Rosemary? It’s quite sheltered in the wood, among the leaves.

I have struggled for ages to grow snowdrops without success. But this year for some reason they have finally decided to grow! Admittedly, there are only about four of them but after all this time I’m grateful for anything.

Hi Gail. Once they’re established, I think they’ll get stronger every year. I’m sure they like to be left alone. I always find wild ones are strongest though.

Lovely photo. When hubby and I lived in a grotty flat in London with no garden, my mother-in-law used to send us a bunch of the first snowdrops of the season. She would wrap their stems in wet cotton wool, then cling-film, wrap the whole bunch in tissue paper and send them to us in a Jiffy bag. She is no longer with us, but the sight of these plucky blooms always brings her to mind.

What a special lady, to go to all that trouble so that you’d have snowdrops. That’s a touching story Julia.

That’s lovely. It would be great to visit Wales sometime. Land of my ancestors and all.

I gave you a Shout-Out on my blog today! 🙂

Those a lovely! I can’t grow them up here on my Snowdonian mountain. I think something eats the bulbs. So I shall just gaze at these and dream of spring.

    Juliet 🙂

Hi Juliet, next time you pass anywhere near Llanystumddwy this time of the year, they’re up on the road to the writers’ retreat. Loads of them. I got right down close to these, aren’t they precious?
