Susan Jones – Writer

My Writing Blog

Susan Jones writes romantic drama with a touch of humour, and historical sagas as Lydia King. She lives in North Warwickshire, and loves walking through the beautiful woodlands where she lives, and gardening and reading are her pastimes.

Here’s a quirky poem for Queen Elizabeth on her Diamond Anniversary.  We’ve been watching the pageant along the Thames.  So British and traditional, even down to the weather.

Our Queen Lizzie, you’ve been quite busy,

Ruling your people with pride.

Since the day I was born,

you’ve been on the money,

In more ways than one I will say.

So we’ll drink some fizz, to you Queen Liz

Three cheers for our Diamond Dutch.

Thank you Jacqueline, I hope so. I think she has a sense of humour that is shown more these days isn’t it?xx

Very patriotic! Just like that poor wet choir singing for the queen at the end of the pageant – I felt so sorry for them!

Hi Susan .. made me smile too – I’m behind after too much watching, partying and blog-writing .. trying to remember facets and providing a record .. it’s been an excellent weekend and other series of events too .. still soggy!! Cheers Hilary

Hi Hilary, it was all lovely wasn’t it? Not surprising the Duke needs a rest after all that waving and standing in the cold. Talk soon.
